POLL: Who Should Play Christian Grey?

EL James describes Christian Grey as tall and muscular with “overwhelming good looks,” “unruly dark copper-colored hair,” and “intense, bright gray eyes.” He is twenty seven, but looks younger and has an air of sophistication and authority about him. Add that all together and you probably have an image of your ideal male specimen floating around in your mind that no one actor could ever completely embody… but lots of hollywood’s finest are eager to try.

The list of actors either stepping up to show interest or being fervently supported by fans has grown tenfold since we introduced our original poll back in May. Regardless of who gets cast, each reader will always have their own vision of Christian Grey. We have to ask once and for all, who is your ideal Christian Grey?

The whole time I was reading the books all I could think was “Oh my God…Matt Bomer is playing him in the movie” but (and this isn’t a dig at Matt cuz I do think he’s fantastic) I was a little disappointed by his lack of screen presence in “Magic Mike.” Christian is such a dominant (no pun intended) character that whoever plays him has to be captivating.

    Yes, Ryan has a perfect body and those steely blue eyes. But more than that, his skill at being both seductive and mysterious is exactly the masterful blend required to breathe life into Christian Grey.

    Not to mention, from a marketing stand point it’s damn near genius because even Gosling fans who haven’t read the books and don’t give to craps about 50 Shades will be hard pressed to stay out of the cinemas with him on the bill. And we all know his fans are determined. Anybody else remember the People Magazine boycott when he lost Sexiest Man Alove to Bradley Cooper? Just sayin’…

    Honestly, Matt Bomer’s being gay is completely irrelevant as he is an actor. He is playing a character that is not real. How many actors and actresses do love scenes with people that they hate…and in the movies it’s impossible to tell. He is the epitome of Christian Grey..has anyone seen how he dresses in real life…he IS Christian Grey. Have you not seen Magic Mike?!?!?! I want to see more. They need to pick him and then then bring in actresses that he has the best chemistry with. I will not accept any other Christian Grey and everyone I know feels the same.

    Having read all three books I think Channing Tatum is the ultimate Christian Grey! it was his body and face that I envisioned while reading the books. As for the roll of Anna I’d go with Kristen Stewart. Shes great at being clumsy and opening her mouth when it should stay closed.

    I personally think Ian Somerhalder would be the best fit for the role
    domineering wise. And with that smirky look he already naturally gives,
    it fits in perfectly with the book. He is a control freak in most of his
    roles, thats what makes it already a perfect match. He is capable of
    playing a completly controling, yet suductively “HOT”, domineering Mr.
    Grey in my book. But thats just my opinion. ;)

    Matt Bomer is good looking. But the actor who plays Christian Grey, must be more than just good looking. Christian Grey is supposed to be calm, but intense, mysterious, possessive and “beautiful”. In my opinion, there are only two actors that possess the intensity and devastatingly good looks that is the specific character of Christian Grey. The first is Ryan Gossling. Have you seen the movie “Drive”? Enough said! The second is Robert Pattinson. Granted, he would need to work on building a little bit of muscle. But his gaze is intense and his hair fits my interpretation of Christian Grey. There is one more actor that could possibly fit the character. Bradley Cooper definitely has the look and has that smirk that can make a female melt, but I don’t know if he has the intensity. He’s a great actor, so maybe he could pull it off.

    As for Anastasia, there are only two actressess that ARE Ana. The first, is Rooney Mara. The second is Carey Mulligan. I’m sorry, but if anyone chooses Kristen Stewart, I will lose all respect for the director and casting agent. I can’t understand why she is so popular. She cannot act!!! I’ve seen every movie she’s been in, and I can honestly say, “I’m dumbfounded as to why she keeps getting all these major roles?” Perhaps it’s because she sleeps with the directors? Anyway, everyone has their own opinion of who should play Christian and Ana – the above mentioned are just mine!

    Henry Cavill! He’s got the looks, the body & he acts pretty well. He was Stephenie Meyer’s 1st choice to play Edward Cullen but unfortunately was too old for the teenage role. 50 is originally a Twilight fan-fiction… Now, Henry’s age is not far from Christian’s & he seems to be almost everything described on the book (except for the eyes & hair which can be worked on). I saw Henry’s commercials for Dunhill & he was just so Christian!
